Default Orange cap mod

with a real orange cap, no pun intended. LOL. Waiting for my ITG panel air filter from the UK. Can't really tell the difference in performance. As for the sound, I can't tell either since I already have the PSE.

I think the "freshly squeezed" Tropicana caps have better sound compared to the "from concentrate" Tropicana......

Maybe it's because your orange cap mod is using a yellow cap

I have FisterD and you can definitely hear it especially over 5500rpm when VariCams kick in.

It's amazing what we do to these cars.

I have the gundo hack and can really notice a difference in sound with the silicone straight intake pipe.

Feeling of wasted money? I know it well. Unfortunately, most mods usually are, adding little or nothing to performance only for esthetics. For these cars, worthwhile mods ( for perf) are expensiiiive!

Orange " or any other color" cap does nothing for performance it is purely to enhance intake sound by bypassing the resonator in the air box.

Also, you are 100% correct performance mods are expensive. Because really the only mod that works is selling it and buying a turbo or a newer higher HP n/a.

Had the top up yesterday and heard a louder roar after 5K. Couldn't hear much of it with the top down, probably drowned by the PSE. Anyway, not bad for $26 for a silicone hose. Not surprised with no improvement in preformance and wasn't expecting it since NA Porsche cars are pretty much maxed out. 87 hp per liter for a NA car from the last century is not bad, LOL.

I thought that there were some "perceived" performance gains if you removed the internal muffler that the orange cap is attached to since it adds some additional space in the airbox for better flow.
