Default Performance upgrades??

Hey guys,
Just sold my clk55 amg & e46 m3, have just purchased a 3.4 c2 coupe,
Previous owner has already upgraded to on engineering ims bearing, new rms
So far all it's pretty stock apart from Bmc filter & pse exhaust,

What are the best bang for $$ to increase performance?
ipd plenum? (Bit expensive) might try Pedro's techno instead,
200 cell cats?
Fvd throttle body?
Ecu tune?

I'm not expecting huge gains, if anyone with any experience with these mod could give some advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Save for a supercharger or sell and buy a turbo. This is the wrong platform to extract more power.

It won't give you more power but I installed a sprintbooster and it makes the car feel much more fun to drive.
Well worth the money.

I second this. I have all the bolt ons and going to dyno this summer. I'm not expecting much.

If I had to choose probably 200 cell cats followed by ecu, maybe pulley too. Anything more will be minimal from that point forward IMO.

best bang for the buck.... nowadays, I rely on suspension and twisty roads, that's how I can keep up with the turbo dudes. Its all talent at this point.

Realistically without going FI, the 200 Cell cats, Intake and Headers are what's going to get you any noticeable performance increases.

The newly designed Fabspeed intake has been dyno tested and proven over the last year to achieve pretty significant HP #'s!

I've attached the Dyno for both the intake and the Sportcat X-pipe separately

oh boy here we go again! to say that the N.A. platform is wrong for improving(performance,h.p. etc.) is ridiculous ,is it limited compared to a turbo,of course, adding turbo or supercharging to a n.a. car, requires plenty of cash alot of labor and in my opinion not worth it. the proper upgrades like high quality 200 cell cats ,headers, mufflers, plenum, ecu upgrade, pulley, airbox , will improve performance no question.its about being realistic in what your going to gain, and of course the argument will always exist about the cost in relation to performance...in the end its all fun...good luck

I already have gt3 suspension, like I said I'm not expecting huge gains,
I have just ordered 200cel cat & intake (more for sound )

Is it worth doing the throttle & plenum?

Btw I also own a modified 930 turbo as my weekend toy

200 cell cats are the biggest bang for the buck for these cars, so good choice.

General consensus is that the plenum and enlarged throttle body are a fantastic way to spend a ****-ton of money for no noticeable gains (strangely enough, the only dyno plots to ever show improvement are those used by the manufacturers of said items...).

Since your 996 N/A has IMS/RMS issues addressed, sell it quick and get yourself a turbo, never driven one, but heard it drives pretty quick.

Supercharger, or Turbo Kit = > DONE! I think it goes for every car. With those kits you will get a new intake and new shiny exhaust but with serious HP gains.

The cheapest way to get into the boosted world is N2O. Nitrous Oxide is a form of chemical boosting.

With the 200-cell cats, is there a tangible, dyno-proven difference torque-wise between the x-pipe and the "standard" design 200-cell cats? From what I understand, the sound can be a bit louder with the former but does the x-pipe design actually offer more grunt?

If you are going to this hi-flo setup... you need a tune as well to maximize the performance. Hence the reasoning for FI as best bang for the buck... those bolt ons add up quick.
