Single row pro IMS retrofit
So having my single row IMS bearing replaced a month ago, I read in Panorama magizine there is a dual row bearing from IMS Solutions that will replace the single row bearing. So I'm wondering if I just spent $2500.00 on a replacement of single row where I could had the double row instead. Any of you guys had the double row installed?

Potentially. You must understand that we never slow down and never quit evolving products. The newest version is always just one step away.
The Single Row Pro kit is a couple hundred bucks more expensive, BUT not every shop is willing to spend 750.00 on my special Faultless tool thats required to install it.
This is the reason why we are distributing the Single Row Pro alongside the classic retrofit bearings, rather than just omitting the classic single row altogether.
Your shop may not have been willing to buy the tool anyway, so you did the best you could at the time.

If this is true, such a logical improvement should have been implemented long ago by Porsche even considering procurement of a new brg design ?

So Jake, Is the the double row a wider brg & dimensionally ,is the ID of the shaft continuous so in fact a wider brg can be pressed in ?

The reason Porsche stepped away from the dual row IMSB in 2000 was due to the high cost of the custom bearing. We have seen this with many, many other areas of the engine, too. Just because the factory didn't have the idea, doesn't mean its a bad idea. This bearing and arrangement was not available to the factory at the time these engines were developed-

This is where my Faultless too comes in and the unique locking system we developed to fix the bearing. The extra space thats created by the internal wire lock allows a European width dual row bearing to be custom made for the application.
No, because this wasn't cheap or easy to do. Have you forgotten that the accountants are in charge?

I would like to utilize the best improvement in my 01 C4 if I can afford it, but @ 75, I may expire before I can locate someone to install your latest improvement .

Where are you located? Ship the car to to where this was developed and get in line :-)

No, and it never will.. Just because it was released after the IMS Solution (only because of the patent for the Faultless tool and the system of installation) doesn't mean anything. The Single Row Pro is a mid-price point product thats still 1K less than the IMS Solution.

Supposing there is someone here in upstate NY that can install the flat brg, just ball park, what might I expect to pay realizing that will depend on if they have the proper tools ?
There's no price fixing, and we don't care what shops charge to carry out their work as it is none of our business. I can only tell you that we charge 4,195.00 (flat fee as a package) for our installation of the IMS Solution and with the things that we include I'd think that most others would be similar IF they are doing all the same procedures and replacing the same components as we are. See these 11 pages of detail if you want to compare.

Our only Certified Installer in the NE found their certification revoked after exercising poor judgement a few months ago. We have not replaced them as of yet, and even if we did it would take months for the evaluation to be completed.

We are shipping brokers. We have Porsches on site from 22 states currently and with these higher volumes and brokerage we can usually ship a car from NY to our facility for less than 550.00 one way. We allow the owner to deal with the shipper direct and that way our cost reductions get passed on. We just arrange the meetings, qualify the shippers and handle the logistics for free. I even have one employee thats only tasked with shipping of these cars and engines to and from our facility.

Hopefully the req'd installation of your products for the user will expand beyond your facility.
