Has anyone purchased, or have any info on the best brand to purchase, any information would be appreciated.

There are several options available for narrow-body 996 vehicles. One of the more popular option appears to be the 997.2 style lights from DEPO.

There aren't any options available for wide-body cars (C4S and turbo).

There are only two actual manufacturers: Spyder and Depo. Get the Depo branded ones and save some headaches and enjoy the better quality in materials. I have the Spyder as they were the first ones available around me but if I had the choice now, I would get the Depos.

I have the Spyder ones too. I keeping getting annoyed by the fact that they are slightly heavier than stock so I would sell for stock ones + small fee

I hate to ask, because I've read through the crazy threads, but when are we going to get some LED tails for the C4S and Turbo ???

Why not just switch out the incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs? Way cheaper than changing the whole lighting insert, you get the same result, and you can do it on a C4S...

Here's some pics of my car with the DEPO lights. They were pricey but worth every penny! Attachment 798745 Attachment 798746 Attachment 798747

And I did a video:

It is not quite the same. The Depo ones have an updated design look to them, will be more reflective (shiny looks good ), and have greater depth. It is an option to just replace the stock with LED bulbs, but wouldnt look anywhere near as nice as the Depos, I would guess.

Exactly. The OEM lights have fluted lenses which is counter productive in a true LED application and in some minds, looks a bit dated when non lit.

But if you want to keep with the OEM theme but want the instant on of LED's, the LED bulbs will work but keep in mind, they will not be as bright since LED's will be diffused in various directions behind a fluted lense. If you get the bulbs that only have rearward facing LEDs, it will light up like a dot and not the whole lense.
