Hm. Maybe I'll go poke 'em and see if they fall off.

Come to think of it, I nailed a big apex cone with the passenger-side one, so they must be screwed/bolted on.

All you have to do is look on the inside of the bumper for the bolts.

The REAR WING III is still listed in their site: http://www.techart.de/en/techart-sho.../exterior.html

Did I miss something? Where are the pics of Mark's car? It's a requirement to post pics of your new car the first time you mention it.

Pics or it never happened!

Don't mean to derail thread at all, but I love that TechArt wing on the cab, kromdom. Adds a great balance to the car's appearance. Anyway, I found a great thread regarding this wing, since others have also commented on it:

Mark, looking forward to seeing your new ride!!

Thank you. And for the link to an old thread also. Honestly, I was clueless about aerokits but knew right away that I got to have it when I saw it while shopping months ago for a 996.

Mike, I think we have enough folks nearby to have a "SoCal 996 GTG?" you think? Then we can post more pics

Default Mk I vs. II

Here are some small differences for the Mk Is:

>MY '99 does not have E-Gas. Throttle pedal has a mechanical (cable) linkage.
>MYs '99 and '00 had dual row IMS bearings; some early MY '01s may also. (FYI-The change-over to single row occurred during the '01 build year.)

Some 996 experts believe these differences give the early 996s some advantages. (Now, let the fights begin!)

Anyone have experience with these guys and their product? Looks like the tech art design. Price is right too.

[Some thread digression is OK, I think, since we are all just twiddling our fingers waiting for Mark to post pix]

Yeah, we should have plenty of local 996-ers for a GTG. But, there's lots of great local folks that are unlucky enough to be stuck with other models like 993s, 997s, and even one local guy stuck with a RUF. I hate to exclude them, simply because of their misfortune!

Sorry guys been real busy since bringing it home. The car is an 03 single owner car with 24,000 miles. I already dropped it of to have the RMS and LNE IMS bearing done.

Very nice, love to hear about high mileage on these cars as so many have so many bad things to say. Original engine? Any major issues? If the original engine did you do the bearing?
