It would take an idiot to take a $160,000 car out in those conditions and expose it to "winter" drivers.

It wasn't his car.

Really? If you spend $160k on a car, your car better perform in ANY weather. This bull **** that Porsches are fine weather cars is ridiculous. If $10,000.00 hyundai can drive in any weather, the $160k AWD sporty car built by the "best German engineers" should be able to do the same.

Last time I checked Germany has plenty of snow and severe weather during the winter, and I have yet to find a sticker on my 911 that says "summer use only".

I think the question is not whether it would be ok to drive, but why would you. I am sure that 991s all wheel drive system is better than my thirteen year old open diff, Toyota 4runner 4 x 4, but i personally would never want to put my Porsche through these weather conditions. There is just no fun in it. They throw gravel where i am, and it's impossible to find a car without a cracked windshield, even if it's not cracked it's pretty much sandblasted and impossible to see out of on a sunny day. It comes down to a personal choice i guess. I chose to store my C2 and drive a beater in the winter. The neighbor in his 997 didn't.

To each their own, valid point.

I drive mine in any weather, and it gets treated like any regular car. I bought mine to drive it, and that is what it is doing.

Already scored a new windshield , but in my book, battle scars make car more real.

When I get me a Murcielago some time in the next two years, it won't be treated any differently either. Snow, dirt, and normal roads.

if you have enough money to not care if your new 911 gets hit, sprayed with salt, etc, then why would it be stupid to drive it. If it gets messed up, you go buy a new one.
