Default Blasphemy: Lambo Horns on a Porsche mod

So I'm finally finishing up an install of some new air horns on my '99 Cab and thought I would share. The job took a little more time than expected but mainly because the Horns needed some modifications to make them secure enough for my liking (JB Weld). I used a bar of aluminum mounted where the optional radiator goes (I guess for turbos) behind the bumper. The horns are on a relay so that they get the full effect of power direct from the battery and so I will (hopefully) never blow a horn fuse again! I managed to keep the stock wiring harness in place in the event someone ever wants to go back to the original Porsche horns. Anyway a few pics are below.

The horns are roughly at the same frequency they use in Lambos - think Cannonball Run. They are also very LOUD. Haven't really been able to experience their full glory as I dont want to **** off the residents living above my car.

Sigh, This is just wrong on so many levels. BTW, you may want to resize your pics before uploading them.

You're keeping it in the VW/Audi/Porsche/Lambo family, I wouldn't call it blasphemy.

Agree with you on the pics sizes Krazy K. Have not worked that out yet.
My car gets used as a DD and is by no means a collector car so modding it with what I view as improvements makes sense to me. Eventually the car will either die a natural death or be hit by another car so I see no problem with enjoying it in the mean time.

Out of curiosity, do Porsche purists approve of the LN Engineering IMS mod (as it is non-stock)?

So basically these aren't real Lambo horns but just the run of the mill Hella aftermarket ones like the ones I used to have on a couple cars, including a Honda.

No Blasphemy involved in that case.

That's true Alpine. These horns produce sound at two frequencies that are almost the same as those used in a Lambo. Both are relatively high pitched. The horns are NOT Lambo OEM horns. Blasphemy averted.

I have never used my horn...wonder if it even works? See no need to replace original, but each to his own. Horns aggravate people and lead to road rage. I don't see any need to draw any more attention to my car than what it naturally gets anyway. Just my 2 cents....

Horns avoid dummies from running into you from where I'm from, the louder the better.

50% of the drivers here are half-asleep, confused or hot-boxing in their car. They need to be reminded that cutting people off by taking a left turn from a right lane on a multi-lane road is NOT ok.

Those are air horns are used on coffee trucks. 928s up to 86 had them and I can't stand their sound.
