My Cayman S w/ 3.4L variocam plus dynoed 246 ft/lb @ 4577 & 283 hp @ 6228 on dynapak (bolted to hubs) so I would think 3.6L could be better with exhaust/ipd/intake etc.

Results from a dyno day with friends on a AWD SuperFlow Dyno

I'd image a C2 would have less drive train loss and have better results. Sorry I don't have the SAE numbers for all of them but mine. CEng is crank

My 3.6l C4S
CEngPw 298.7
SAEPwerMax 247.7
CEngTq 258
SAETq 219

A stock 996 3.4
CEngPw 288
SAEPwerMax 232
CEngTq 246

Another 3.6l C4S (with same mods but different manufacturers and no plenum)
CEngPw 300
SAEPwerMax 250
CEngTq 253

997.1
CEngPw 318
SAEPwerMax 263
CEngTq 270

997.1 S
CEngPw 325

997.2 C4S
CEngPw - 360.1
CEngTq - 307.3

996 TT with UTW chip
CEngPw 457
SAEPwerMax 390
CEngTq 529

997 TT chipped and mods
CEngPw 505
SAEPwerMax 442

I have all the data that you could imagine from our chassis dyno. I'll share a ton of graphs with you later.

I would dyno yours, but I am afraid to! :-)

Jake, I understand why you have to dyno all your builds but it really doesnt matter for most of us about our own cars. Their not high horsepower (excluding TT, GT's) by any stretch of the imagination. I would be worried mine would pick the dyno session as the perfect opportunity to blow its guts out and soak your shops dyno in oil, coolant, and shrapnel.

Jim's car is a different case. We are treating it like a Faberge Egg here while we are trying to squeeze more life from it after 204K miles.

Every car that we see, stock or otherwise sees our chassis dyno here. In fact customers have to request that we do not dyno the cars, which only happens a couple of times a year. I do this to gather information for our research and its how we gain so much trend data.

Do you have an awd dyno or are you talking the time to disconnect the front diff on the awd models that you get in?

We don't see that many C4 cars, when we do we pull the shaft. We also have two in house engine dynes, one set up for the M96. Thats the data we use for product and engine combination development.

I never post dyno graphs, but we have thousands.

thousands of graphs but very few awd. sorta leads to seem there are less problems with awd at least in statistics. not that I am interested in graphs but the dyno avg max for engine models would be interesting even though temps can really effect the results. The awd dyno we were on that day I could honestly say was not kind to awd cars while rear wheel drive models had much better results. I am fairly certain disconnecting the front would have produced better results, drive train loss and it's crank calulations didn't match up.

if any car would have blown up, it would have been mine. it ran well even though I burnt a liter of oil just getting out there.

I am probably crazy for doing this, but I decided to post some of last year's bigger combo outputs. Don't make me regret it by being so damn critical.

These are all fully muffled, 100% street car engines running on pump gas with great manners, 700 RPM idle. I threw in a "stock" control that we just pulled from a bone stock 3.6 after an IMS Solution install.
