Default Brake wear sensor removal - how?

How do you unhook the brake wear sensor wire from the caliper. I can't see how it unhooks and I don't want to break it.

Hard not to break. Always best to order new sets when doing pad replacements. About $39/set.

You can also bypass, and just zip tie back.

I used a small blade screwdriver and pried it up from the bottom. Don't pull on the wires as it wouldn't take much to damage them.

If you're tracking it, just use a zip tie and secure it out of the way.

+1 on zip-tying it to one of the hard lines so it's out of the way. If you're a DIYer, I can't imagine the only time you know how much brake material left is when the sensor gets wrecked...

If my sensors are still not worn out, can I cut the wire 3 inches from the shock tower plug, and solder them together - removing them from the system, without a warning light?

Yes. You can do this even if the sensors are worn out. The sensors just break the circuit when they get too hot, once you cut the sensor out, it doesn't matter if the sensor was good or bad when you remove it.

I did this, but haven't soldered them (couldn't find my soldering gun when I did it so I just used electrical tape). Occasionally on the track, the brake sensor light will come on intermittently, and it is very annoying to have a new red light pop up when you are on the track. Next time I'm in there, I will solder them as you suggest.
