Default Where did this part come from?

This past saturday I replaced my 10 year old motor mounts with the OE replacements from Pelican Parts. All went well with the install.

When I lowered the car down a little rubber bushing with brass colored metal on the inside hit the floor.

The part # on this little piece is 99970347940 on one side with the RJB & EPDM on the other.

In all the catalogs it is described as "bond rubber mount". Fantastic! Now where the hell did it come from?

pic?

My guess is that it goes under the mounting foot for the blower housing you removed to access the left side motor mount. (like an anti-vibration mount between the blower bracket and the frame of the car)

Is it one of the mounts for the airbox? There is the one where the pin drops in and the other that the bolt goes through... just a thought.

Ah! I think that it might be the one where the bolt goes through. That would be a simple fix. It's not big enough to be the mounts for the airbox.

Yep that is one of the mounts for the blower motor. Note that you do not need to remove that bolt all the way to remove the motor. It just needs to be loosened and you can slide the motor out after the other bolt, nut, hose and electrical connector are removed.

Yes, as Profet states, looks to be one of the mounts for the emissions pump. Check out fig 7, & 8 here:
996/7 Engine Mount Replacement

Is this the issue?

Glad the problem is solved.

Hey Soverystout, I passed a silver 996 MKII on Stony Batter Road in Pike Creek last Friday around 5:30pm in the pouring rain. You?
