Default Re-did my tints today

Had the side windows tinted a few years ago - the guy who did it was an absolute HACK. I hated the gaps in coverage at the sides, the bubbles and the streaks that never went away but lived with it for years - finally went in to another shop and had them re-do it completely. SOOO much happier - Wife can't understand what I'm talking about - she never saw what bothered me everyday with the old tints...

Anyone in MA - the only place to go is Eastern Glass. He's an unbelievable pro that the MB and Porsche dealers outsource to.

I hope you are sat down on that photo otherwise you will struggle to reach the pedals haha. BTW is it a cab? If so did he do the rear window for you? Also is the rear window glass or plastic?

I skipped the rear window. It's not very big.... The rear window on MK2 996 is glass...

I had crappy tint installed on mine by the PO. The dealership he traded the car into (that I bought the car from) removed all of it because it was actually illegal, however the left the back glass because they were afraid they would damage the heating elements. So now I have this crappy tint on the rear that I hate and have been looking at getting removed or re-done. Anyone have luck with the back glass not damaging the heating elements?

The secret that pros use to remove rear tints without damaging the defroster elements is steam.

Will the steam hurt an all-leather interior? 40AE have super-duper extended leather. I think something like 50 cows died per car.

No because they use a steam machine directly on the tints themselves and will not even be near the leather.

On a silver car it would be awesome to tint the side windows.
How light can you go in Vancouver? I've seen cars even with 40% or 50% tint in silver that look markedly more svelte and awesome

Technically we arent supposed to have any tint on driver and front passenger windows. Seen many cars with those windows tinted though. Reading other local enthusiast forums, sounds like its a constant game with the local federales when you have a decent tint on.
I think a very subtle tint would be ok...but whats the point in that? I agree some nice tint would look wicked

May I ask how much? I have a seam on my driver's window that I want redone. It's driving me nuts.
