Default Motor mounts and transmission mounts?

Can I get a concensous on Motor mounts and transmission mounts.

My car is going on 63k miles is my DD for most part and sits on X74 suspension. I am looking at doing motor mounts in next few months what would you guys suggest?

1. GT3RS
2. WEVO semi solid
3. OEM

What about trannsmission mount? I have heard Porsche now specs a newer 997 mount? Worth it? How big of a job is that?

I have the x-74 susp. as well.
I should have bought the M-030 as the 74 is pretty stiff.
That said, I would not put anything else on the car that would stiffen the ride unless you plan on tracking the car.

I don't find X74 stiff at all? I think it may boil down to NJ roads vs South Florida roads. BTW, I had M030 it is crap you don't want plus makes car look like a 4x4.

The RS motor mounts are nice and make shifting just a little bit crisper, I think the solid mounts would shake at idle more than you want. The RS have a little vibration at idle. I'm interested in looking at my transmission mounts. The car has 122K miles now and probably could use a change.

I would put stock motor mounts back in the car unless you plan to disable the knock sensor. If you go with a solid mount or stiff mount you may (prolly will) retard the timing thus resulting in a loss of HP.

However if your mounts are sagging, I can promise you, the difference is incredible,

I recently did the 997 tranny mount and it's a pretty straight forward job, quite easy. I'd say the install itself is about a 30 minute job. I noticed crisper shifting but that could all be in my head! YMMV

Just replaced mine last weekend with OEM. 100K with RoW M030. Huge difference!

+1. I installed at the same time as the supercharger kit. The motor will sit up a bit higher, so you may have to adjust your exhaust tips. They are semi-solld, and in my opinion, a good compromise between OEM and solids. I don't find the ride too harsh at all.

Yea, I agree no way I would even consider solids.
I was just thinking the non-fluid GT3RS or Wevo would be a good performance bump without being annoying.

I will have to do some research on those RSS ones.

Really?! The knock sensor measures engine vibration rather than chemistry on intake and exhaust side? I sensed sarcasm, but then I followed the link to the RSS mounts website, and there it was. "Will not cause knock sensor issues commonly associated with solid mounts."

I never would have guessed. So, does that mean when we drive over bumpy roads, we lose power?

Now, if you told me that an idling engine on solid mounts could cause aeration issues, that would begin to make sense. So, I will assume that this would only be an issue at idle or very low speeds. Or is it at all speeds and programmed out on competition vehicles?

Ya got me curious SharkAttack.

I will add this to my "You learn something everyday" list.

I've had the RS mounts for 3 years. They definitely firm up the rear end and remove the sloppiness you get when driving on track and rowing the gears under cornering and braking loads. Big improvement over stock but if car is only driven on the street id stick with new fluid filled stock mounts. Unless, you just want a more raw edged feel to your car.

I think a bit more raw is what I am looking for so seriously contemplating the GT3RS mounts to go with the x74 suspension.

Any easy way to tell if my 2004 has a newer (99737503303) 997 vs. the older (99637503303) 996 transmission mount while still installed in the car?
