Thanks! I saw mention of this in the manual but I'd prefer to receive positive (rather than negative) notification of its operation but it is what it is.

I going to ask my GF to drive her car behind mine and tell me if she sees it go up and down between 75 and 37. I think that's the only way I'll know for sure whether it is working properly.

Thanks! That's another idea but the tape could pull loose for other reasons. So, I think just having the GF driving behind me at 75/37 is still the better option.

Pull loose, maybe if you can't put it on right...I could give you several suggestions that will work, glad you came up with your own idea. Will your GF keep up at 74mph?

Yes, she can.

She has a lead foot like me. Actually, told her in the past not to follow to close at speed. She's only got a 4Runner but I won't take off on her, during the experiment while communicating her w/phones in hand free operation or w/rf radios until she can tell me if the spoiler is working or not..

Tape a little flag to the spoiler that is visible in the rear view mirror when it is in the up position.

Instead of my GF just following me to see if the spoiler is working and telling me whether she sees it go up or down or not, I think I'm going to install a GoPro on her dash or windshield and just record it as she drives behind me instead.

This way I'll have a visual record of it and won't have to question her about what she did or didn't see.

Problem is when I question her about certain observations, she often fails to take sufficient note of the details and then gets pissed off when I press for details that she can't remember which leads to hard feelings and sometimes an argument. This way, I can just see it for myself. It would be nice if she would call out the speed if/when she sees the spoiler go up and down, as the video runs but I'm not going to push her on that point.

Damn, someone did the “spoiler up” mod backwards on mine. It gives a warning when it doesn’t go up??!!

Put the top down, set cruise control at 77, take off seat belt and peak over the back and look.

Did you ever think to have the girlfriend follow behind you and give you an update when it goes up and down?

I feel your pain. I had this dialog just last week...

<ring ring>
Wife: Honey, the check engine light came on in the S6. I stopped at the side of the highway. What do I do?
Me: Did the light just come on, or did it flash?
Wife: It came on. And went off. Is that flashing?
Me: It went off when you turned the car off?
Wife: Yeah.
Me: That is not flashing.
Wife: But it came on a couple of times.
Me: It went on and off twice, or it flashed persistently?
Wife: Um, I'm not sure.
Me: Ok, start the car for just a moment. Watch the light for a few seconds. Turn the car off. Then tell me if it flashed.
Wife: It came on when I started the car.
Me: Did it flash?
Wife: It turned off again when I turned off the car.
Me: So it came on and then went off -- a single flash -- or multiple flashes?

That went on for some time. Was it flashing? We will never know. Regardless, one of the catalytic converters is toast. I suspect that the cat died slowly over a long period of time rather than quickly in my wife's hands, but that will have to remain a mystery.

Get going up and over 70 MPH then have your girlfriend take a "selfie" of the raised spoiler! San Marco Rd. near Goodland, FL

Thanks for the suggestions. Just did something simiiar.

Was out driving w/the GF w/the top down. When I found a clear stretch of road where I could open it up, I told her to unbuckle and get up and out of her seat to look back and tell me if/when the spoiler went up/down. She confirmed that it did both and actually took a pic of it up while at speed.

Question answered: it works.
