Whats This One Worth? 01' 996TT Heavily Enhanced
#16
Interesting...and challenging...question, because the car has both extensive performance and cosmetic modifications. The Porsche crowd I run with goes one way or the other, not both.
My $0.02--market the car one way or the other, and although it pains me to say it I'd market it to the "poser" crowd (i.e. emphasize the cosmetics). They will not only pay for the look, but may pay for the "prestige" of the power and performance if even they are unable or incapable of using it. The gearheads amongst us will appreciate the power and performance but won't give much value to the cosmetics.
A quick scan of asking prices on Rennlist and PCA for 2001-2003 996 Turbos tells me $45K +/- 5K. Higher prices generally for lower mileage (<35,000) cars.
Hope this helps.

More often than not, body work like that means accident damage.

The previous owner (a shop owner/ peer of mine in the industry) carried out all the body enhancements personally as well as all the other work thats been done to the car. It was his daily driver for several years.
The wing is true carbon fiber, I witnessed prior to being painted to match the car.
Several people have valued the car at 48-50 but I want to see whats realistic before I list it for sale in the next few days.

I wondered where it went, and I have to say I'm still not sure why he got rid of it for the M X5, but he says he loves that thing. That 996 is incredible though, I took every opportunity to check it out whenever I was at the shop, goodluck with the sale!
