Default "NEW" 996 world

I have been looking for a 996, for a few months now.

I love my Boxster S , but prefer the cabin space I had in my 84 Carrera which I just sold. I found an 03 , red/black clean ext. and int. w/sport seats, with improved muflers/ bypass, and an CAI , K&N system , every thing works , just no owners manual, with 101 + miles , very clean , will have the PPI done wed. the10th, am , and I am on needles and pins as the saying goes , still not sure I am doing the right thing. just a bit over 20k,, and its guards red !! probably prone to tickets !!! have not had speeding ticket in this millenium ! not sure this the color , but what the hell !! live once only . my wife likes the color.
It will be nice when we take our next extended road trip this summer Quebek and back.

Very cool. Non-black/silver/gray/dark anything 996s are awesome!

A PPI on any 101K Porsche is probably going to find broken, leaking, malfunctioning stuff. Some things can be fixed and are simply negotiating issues. Other problems are show-stoppers. Make very cold decisions with that information. Don't get ahead of yourself.

And if you buy the car, dump the K&N... the MAF will thank you.

The least expensive decent turbo I've seen was $35K...

By decent I mean: No salvage title or major accidents documented, less than 80K miles, very clean exterior, very clean interior, not overly molested and no significant issues or work immediately needed.

I regret a bit not picking that one up, as even at $35K, they are a bit hard to find I am willing to give up on some of my criteria above.

[another double post... VB Server is jacked today!

It is really screwing up the time-stamping of posts... My post above was in reference to and posted well after white-out's post below and the four more after it!]

$20k seems high for a 100k mile 996.
You can get a lower mile turbo car for $5-10k more.

Where? The $25k Turbo is like a mythical Unicorn! I see those prices thrown around here all the time, but have never actually seen one.

We were just discussing a 2004 turbo for sale for $29K that has almost 200K miles on the clock in another thread...

I'd pass too. I just posted it to give you an example of current market pricing on the 996 TT. I don't think you can find a TT for $25K.

That's odd... I posted that response after I read Gonzo's post. Maybe it was some kind of a time warp...

I think I would pass on that one. White Out did use the term "lower mile turbo". Don't think 200k qualifies.
