I've been looking for a C2, non turbo, auto, cab within a 200-300m radius of PHX and haven't found anything around the $30k price with tolerable miles. Did find an early 2000 for $35k with 29k miles, but dealer won't let me take it for independent PPI. There are a load in the $40-$50k range, but nothing much under that.

There's another thread talking about 'Prices hitting new lows' but even if I expand my search to nationwide its a very limited choice. Problem is you Porsche types actually drive your cars! When I was Ferrari shopping it was rare to see anything much over 20k miles-just have to change my mind set.

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...t-new-low.html

Great forum and great place to learn, a general thanks to all for the excellent education on my new passion.

$20k+ was high anyway. A 1999 and a 2000 sold on EBAY last month for $23,500 and $23,600 with 33,200/37,000 miles. Both had hardtops. Both looked very nice. Tracking sold EBAY auctions is the best way to get a feel for pricing for us average joes.

- 2001, sliver with 63,000 miles listed for $38,900
- 2002, silver with 74,880 miles listed for $38,996
- 2001, silver with 56,802 miles listed for $39,888

Everything else is listed above $40,000.

The car is very nice, but I am afraid to take the risk and have to buy another engine.
The owner thinks I am going on with the purchase!
I let him know I am very sad , but the PPI does not make me confortable.

Is it Nephrite Green with matching interior and wood package?

Peter, your not going to find a pristine 996 with over 100K miles for a cheap price. You need to look for lower mileage, higher price, or lower your expectations of what a 14 year old car with 100K+ miles is going to be.

The owner thinks I am going on with the purchase!

Do you have a link to this car so other can look at it?

I am not afrai of h mileage , its how it was cared for , and maint history , how long it has been owned? etc.
9 years ago I bought my 1st 911 an 84 coupe, it had 171,plus , I just sold it with 216k , and did not loose in the sale. Engine never opened.
