Do you want a magetic type? It can scratch the paint. Hardtop or Convertible? Have you considered a hand held walkie talkie type? Do you want to talk 10 miles away, which requires a good antenna, or just have for emergencies and talk to a passing truck for help?

There are trade offs to antenna mounts and to the CB wattage as well. Just like stereos a 300 watt stereo is going to sound better than the 50 watt version. The FCC limits the output wattage of CB's. Pretty sure that the latest output maybe at 5 watts for a CB.

Yep...5 watts...

Operating a General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) System
A GMRS system consists of station operators, a mobile station (often comprised of several mobile units) and sometimes one or more land stations. A small base station is one that has an antenna no more than 20 feet above the ground or above the tree on which it is mounted and transmits with no more than 5 watts ERP.
None of the GMRS channels are assigned for the exclusive use of any system. You must cooperate in the selection and use of the channels in order to make the most effective use of them and to reduce the possibility of interference.

You can expect a communications range of five to twenty-five miles. You cannot make a telephone call with a GMRS device.

I don't currently have a CB radio installed in my P-car, but had a police scanner and CB radio with magnetic antenna's installed on my STI, I just put on a patch of 3M protectant on the patch I wanted the antenna's mounted to protect the paint underneath
