FS: VF-Engineering Supercharger

Carnerd might not agree but I think this thread has been useful - from the standpoint of highlighting how many VF installs there are .That is a big number with no negative press. Certainly indicates a well engineered product and satisfied customers .What else is there ?

Ya when I bought the car I had a PPI done at vision Motorsports in Costa Mesa and Dwaine (the owner) assured me that the supercharger wouldnt stress the IMS anymore normal. That was definitely something I was concerned about

There are a few reasons. I had a 996 turbo and 996 GT3, both which I tracked heavily. The turbo was heavily modified (motons, seats, brembos, etc), and while it was faster on the track I always seemed to prefer the driving experience of the GT3 (never was a huge fan of boost on the track).
The SC came with the car and it voids an after market warranty that I have so that's reason 2, but the main reason is because I need the money to upgrade my suspension. Thanks

8 years ago my father developed an extremely severe variant of Parkinson's and I sold the car to help my mother pay for a full handicap addition to their house so he could spend the remainder of his life at home instead of suck in a hospital bed. Seemed like a pretty damn good reason to me but thanks for your comments KrazyK, as always, they are ever so greatly appreciated.

Thats certainly a good reason, sorry to read that. I assumed there was something about the GT3 you didnt like. They are probably going to be much sought after collector cars one day. Pardon the mistaken assumption.

I found out from VF that it will actually cost about $600 to make this smoothly fit on a 996 and unfortunately that's too big of a hit for me to cover. I've lowered the price to $4,000 FIRM plush shipping but that's $4,600 FIRM plus shipping for any 996....

Doh! I'd be all over this, if I hadn't purchased it new in December. This is a heck of a price! Good luck with the sale. Somebody should jump on this! Here's my install progress over on the 6.

You can probably ask JR on his opinion tonight on your date and he will probably say there isn't enough evidence to support your "theory".
Just Don't Do It..
Unlike other companies that will apply boost to a "box stock" engine, we discourage this. Thats simply due to our experience with these engines and the fact that in stock form, they don't hold up very well and under boost trouble is to be expected. The stock compression ratio is too high, the stock cylinders too weak and the stock cast pistons are paper thin, why would anyone ever apply forced induction to an engine with these issues??
