Finishing up my oil change and the drain plug snapped. Has anybody had this happen before. Tightening with torque wrench to 37 lb fts.
I guess I'll head to the dealer Monday and get a new plug. I can't remember who I bought this one from but I'll go back to stock. Very little material picked up by the magnet. I'll just cut the filter open each time and see if there is any ferrous material at each oil change.

Lucky the plug broke instead of stripping the threads....although the oil sump plate isn't a particularly hard or expensive part to replace anyway.
I found the problem with the stock plug was that the socket became worn very quickly. I could take or leave the magnet, but the quality of the aftermarket part is definitely higher.

i had the exact same thing happened to me day before yesterday, it withstood three previous oil changes at 37 ft lb torque, now i realize it should have been 19 ft lb...

Most of the torque exerted with the stock 8mm hex in the OEM drain plug is absorbed through torsion in the apex drive. The drain plug actually sees much, much less torque than that.
We've had the same issue with the MCD sensors which also torque at 19lb but are sometimes over torqued and then fail.

I think the original instructions said 37 ft/lbs, now the site says 19.
