Default 997 Intake housing on a 996

Does a intake housing from a 997 fit on a 996?
I thought I saw someone post a picture and said it was interchangeable (bolt on).
Only change I think was you would need a 997 air filter vice a 996.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but why did you start this thread instead of searching for the one you saw?

Just looks better, performance should be the same.
A couple of plastic tabs on my 996 are broken off and I am thinking of replacing.
Someone had a used one they were selling - unfortunately when I saw the picture of it, it was from a turbo.

Your right i should have searched more, I was thrown off because I couldn't find a picture of it.
The 997 turbo looks much different and I didn't understand how it could fit in a 996.
Subsequently I found some pics on 6speed-on-line and realized what the situation was.
Sorry for the duplication.

X2 Why whould you want it? Ive seen them. No HP gain. It looks newer but certainly changes the 996 looking original. Kind of looks "wrong" in a 996 engine bay.

I bought one and installed it to realize how silly it looked - it said 3.8 on it and my engine is a 3.6 so I returned it

how is it "more volume" if the restriction at the intake inlet is the same size? or more volume due to it taking up more space?

Different larger air filter? Might might have less restriction when partially dirty? Gives 50 HP gain just like CAIs??

Makes the car 5mph faster like changing out the Pumkins?

Same air filters. Just looks purdy but for this kind of part, I don't really see it making too much sense since you(and possibly your mechanic) is the only one that's gonna see it unless you have a show car.

Sort of like the guys that want nice and shiny mufflers that no one will see, or how about that polished and anodized SSK assembly that will be hidden by all that leather.
