Does that small increase TB size make a difference? It's only 1.8mm...I've been on the fence...

I thought it made a significant difference, more than I expected. Dyno went from 266 to 282 with the TB and dumping crossover pipes and going straight out the back. No mufflers or cats before, just crossover pipes. I already had GIAC's street flash for 91 octane, I should have stated that previously....

So we're talking about a 10whp or so increase with a 1.8mm increase in TB...I can't see going straight back from crossover gaining much at all.

I put in a Fabspeed Maxflo Competition cold air intake about a year ago and I like it a lot. I do maybe 10 track days/year. Great sound, great throttle response, a couple HP (I think), no MAF issues. DIY install in a couple of hours; about $500. Happy.

Just less weight. Had to cut the end of the manifolds back a little to get the angle straight out the back........

Evoms CAI,Evoms-it Flash,FVD Headers and FVD 200 Cell sport catalytic convertors and TUBI mufflers,IPD plenum.Yes alot of money for what some would say very little in return! And then i drive it and it sounds amazing, pulls great thru the rev band(better than before i think)and overall im very impressed with these upgrades, these arguments or opinions have been going on forever on this forum.Alot depends on your cash flow or the amount of Porsche fever you have....LOL

996_C4S I really like Fabspeed also. In addition to being a beautiful bit of kit, it looks like it is positioned in the right spot under the air scoop to capitalize on air flow to minimize sucking in hot air. Is it true that CF dosent conduct heat like plastic would?

Those of you that have installed the Fabspeed intake feel like you've gotten better throttle response and overall improved grunt? Any regrets?

Randy that looks good! How do you like the throttle response with the EVOMS? Do you also have a B&M short shift kit? I have that on my mod list. How do you like it?

yes i do the b+m short shift kit one of the better bang for the bucks, really sweet!!!!throttle responce much better in the lower rev range, its all about the overall driveability not just an increase in horsepower, although that helps, but its very limited what can be done to a normally aspirated engine, thats why you remap the ecu....imo

Randy, it totally looks like your intake does not line up with the intake baffle on the engine lid? Is that just the photos?

I have the fabspeed intake on my car. I like it a lot, I bought it used so price wasn't a big factor for me. I definitely noticed a better throttle response and coupled with my maxflo mufflers it really screams at WOT. Intake

This is quite impressive and never thought a TB update would do that. Two questions.

1. when you say "stock 3.4", do you mean bolt ons only with no headwork/cams?Do you have anything else besides modified exhaust, filter, tb, ecu to get this hp figure?

2. Has the "area under the curve" suffered at all? I ask because you are using your setup as a race-car where you're more often in the peak areas and might be less concerned with the lower end power band.

Thanks
