Default OT: Traffic lawyer in White Plains, NY

Anyone know a good lawyer to fight a speeding ticket in Westchester County? My wife got pulled over doing 80 in a 55 this past weekend.

No specific recommendations but what I do is search (use google if you want) for an attorney/law office that specializes in traffic citations very near (as close as possible) to the courthouse where the citation will be dealt with. These attorneys and their staff handle a lot of tickets per year and have a good system, cost effective and with a high success rate of getting the ticket dealt with.

Call a couple of phone numbers until you find one that will handle your wife's citation.

If she was really doing 80, she got caught. Do traffic school or pay the piper. I can't say I would invest in trying to get off of that one, unless there was something unscrupulous about the stop. Sometimes it's just taking responsibility which isn't always fun, but sometimes the best option.

I might be missing something else in regards to the severity, but that is my initial reaction FWIW.

That should give you more drive time for a while.

I live in the Metro NY area as well and I can tell you that if you drive slower than 80 on the parkways, people want to push you out of the way, even in the middle lane. So basically it comes down to selective prosecution. It's like holding penalties in football, they could be called on every play, but they pick and choose when to throw the flag.

Hi Steve

Wife told me that my son was hungry and fussy so she wanted to get home quick to feed him. This is going to be an expensive meal..

Miss our old group in the 996 forum. Glad to see some of us holding up the fort still.

Default Don't Waste Time

There's a technicality that has a high likelihood of working in NYS, but you have to act fast. Any NYS traffic lawyer will know about this. It worked for me in 2005 and I got the ticket dismissed without ever appearing in court. Well worth the attorney's fee I paid.

I have seen George Nader get a speeding ticket (105 in a 40!!!!) reduced to a "disobeying traffic device" ticket, only two points... = no nasty insurance problems, call him!
