996 Color Change

996 Color Change
I own a 996 1999 C4 cabriolet with hardtop and looking for a color change. No bodywork needed. Car is metallic blue and new color will be yellow with an orange tint. I might install a front end conversion 996/997 look. Does anyone know a good and reasonable shop in SoCal ?

It would be cheaper...and better investment...to sell the car and buy one closer to your colour choice, like yellow.
Short of a complete restoration rebuild, you are not going to cover all the blue and it will really hurt the resale value and "could" look cheap.
If you're dead set on it, I would try a wrap before paint.
There are several shops in SoCal...actually, hundreds. Have you spoken with any yet?

I agree with the previous comments. I would think that a complete color change from blue to yellow is going to be $10K+. If you go to a quality shop, it will probably be even more. If you throw in the 997 front end conversion, you'll easily spend $15K or more on this project. I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to $20K. You'd be better off selling your 996 and putting that money towards the purchase of a 997 - possibly a yellow one!
A quick google search turned up a nice candidate:

Sell it as it is and buy a 997... Why **** up a perfectly good car by wrapping it up like an easter turkey. I wouldn run a mile from a wrapped car.. Cheapo bastards. But that only in my honest opinion of course haha. The way these guys mess with these 996 cars. We wont be able to buy an unaltered one for love nor money. They are either wrapped up or ****ed up or both lol.

It is your car and you can do what you want with it. But, you are going to trash whatever value you have in this car. You can never, ever get a paint job in another color that is any where near original quality and coverage. I agree with the others, sell the car as is and look for one in the color that you want. Just my two cents......

If you want to do something crazy just for fun without spending a lot of $$ and can be removed easily I would suggest this:
https://www.dipyourcar.com/pages.php?pageid=48
Cost about $300-400 to do the whole car and can be pealed off easily. And as others mentioned you won't trash your car's value when you want to sell.
