Default Window regulator seems to be about to go. OEM or aftermarket?

Window regulator passanger side seems to be about to go. will not go down when you open, makes noise on way down and you have to hold button to close or will auto open as if something is blocking it.

Should I go OEM or aftermarket? Took it to my local indy and he looked at and agreed says either OEM or aftermarket one is fine and he has used both with sucess. What do you guys think? My buddy replaced both his with aftermarkets and seem fine. Alos, replace just the one or do both while at it?

I didn't know we had an aftermarket option but am also very interested. My passenger window makes a cracking sound when it goes all the way down and also makes other strange noises periodically. I'm guessing it is about to go.

Many times its just a rusty pulley in the mechanism that causes the noise. Try this. Under the door are 4 rubber plugs, pull them out and look for two plastic pulleys. Squirt the bearings of the plastic pulleys with oil and actuate the window, repeat. If it doesn't work, well you wasted about 5 minutes of your life.

I am going to give that a try. The damn thing was working just fine this morning and at lunch started acting up :/
I just spent a bunch of $$ ordering all supplies for my 60k service so if I can even just prolong would be a win.

I had one go out about 8 months ago, and took it down to my local auto glass shop and they rebuilt it in about 2 hours and they charged me $100. It has worked without any problems

I'd go OEM. I did actually. I'm pleased with it.

I used my existing motor on my new regulator with no issues.

Don't buy a knock off regulator. I went this route and have had nothing but issues with it, and i'm going to throw it away and replace with OEM.
