Default Good Bye 996

Cross post...

Good Bye 996
As of a few days ago I have left the 996 club. I got a great offer on my 02 baby and had to let her go. No IMS/RMS drama she was running like a champ. It was an awesome car in every way but all things come to an end, but it’s not all sad and gloom.

Hello 997
In its place is a shiny red 2009 C2S with PDK. Almost all the bells and whistles 30,900 miles and CPO till 2015. I LOVE THIS CAR. The way it looks, the way it drives, the fit and finish of the interior. The wide hips, instead of a baby got back reference I’ll go with a Shakira one, Hips don’t lie. I have bought my dream car and couldn’t be more happy.

Tim

Congrats ! Moving to a 2009 was an idea I had for a while but then chose to add a 996 C4S. Glad it worked out for you.

Enjoy, as we know you will.

Congrats Tim...enjoy the new ride!!!

I test drove a 2009 C2S PDK back in '09 when it was brand new and I loved it. It certainly pulled noticeably harder when accelerating than my 2000 C2.

BTW, I'm sure your GR car is faster than the black car that I test drove. We both know that GR cars are the fastest...

P.S. We need some pics. The new avatar is just a tease.

Very nice, my friends bitch and moan about me eventually doing the same for the interior. How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking?

Nice ride for sure, GR is the BEST colour.
Just mod your 996 interior, if full leather they can be made to look quite nice.

Oh I don't really see it - I actually prefer my interior over a regular 997. I've got full leather svanna with wood options and steering wheel stiching

Congrats on the 997! It looks great! Was your 996 a tip or a 6MT? I'd love to hear your initial impressions of PDK...

I feel like I got a good deal, 65 plus they took care of me on my trade. I have to give a shout out to my dealer. I was originally looking at another car they wanted off the lot and were looking to make a deal on. He found an issue pop up noticing the hood had been resprayed (and not well) and the light wasn't installed perfect. He told me straight up i shouldn't buy it and after looking at it he was right. I'd be eyeing the red car for a while and we came to pretty good deal terms.

The car was meticulously keep and looks and feels brand new.

The 02 was a 6 speed with the 997 short shift installed. So far i'm loving the PDK, as a daily driver it makes the drive though town super chill. in normal mode it acts like a good auto trans, not hard shifting no crazy reving, sometimes a hair of a delay when shifting but not bad.

Put the car in sport plus and it's a different animal, faster rev's harder shifts, for me at least it helps me focus on putting the car where I want it. So I couldn't be happier with it.

Love your new car Tim congrats. In a year or two I will also most likely move into a 2009 997 or possibly a 996 turbo. Although I really love my 996 so not in any big hurry and may end up keeping it, only time will tell.

Nice car and great price. I have been fighting the internal devil to trade into a '09 or '10 cab. I love my '00 Cab, but... must not look...
