Default IMS/RMS

Has anyone had their IMS/RMS done only to have their car start leaking again from the RMS or the IMS....

If the shop is reputable, it should be covered under warranty

Was it leaking before you had them replaced?

I've read where a number of people had their RMS replaced, only to have it leak again. That seemed like an issue pretty early on, as the RMS was beefed up, or improved in some way where it doesn't seem to happen as of late...at least not that I've read about.

It started leaking so I had both the mis and rms done since there was no record of it even though the clutch was recently done by po at the dealer Figures

IMS? RMS? What are these acronyms? Has this been covered at all?

(maybe I'll do a search...)

That sucks about the seals though. I wonder if the new seals were a different thickness or perhaps didn't seat right or got pinch, knicked, or marred in some way? Good Luck!

What year and mileage on your car. If the crankshaft carrier is not centered then the RMS can lek again and again. There is a tool to check for this. If the carrier needs to be centered the the engine must be disassembled.

Hopefully this is not the case with your engine.
