Default Which OEM SSK?

I have a 2004 C4S and will use this as a DD (85% street) and track days (15%).

What OEM SSK would work best for my 911? 996 GT3 ssk, 997 ssk, cup car cables, etc?

Please help. Thank you in advance!!

Thanks Zookie. I was planning on spending $300-$500 on this mod. Does anyone have anything else to contribute.

Danke.

yes a dog box is going to be his best option.... everyone is so sarcastic on here.....

most of my track cars run just oem shifters since i hate knotchiness, i do enjoy the feel of a shorter throw but its not worth the misshifts. but you cant go wrong with a b&m ssk.

hopefully someone can chime in about the 997 oem shifter.

Here is a B&M like new that a friend is selling. Even comes with the housing (normally you use your own housing)

The 997 shifter is as smooth as butter and the throw is reduced by 15%, so it's a noticeable difference. I myself have the agency power SSK, which reduces the throw by a whopping 35%, but I fully agree with Kris79, I HATE the notchiness and I hate to admit it but if you get a bit lazy with the shifter it's easy to mis shift and/or not fully engage. Also my shifter feels like it's broken lol even though it's solid as a rock and I know it's installed properly. Overall, reducing the throw by too much is not necessarily a good thing as most aftermarket SSKs aren't as smooth as oem. I'm probably going to switch to oem 997 for a better and more accurate shifting experience.

I actually went from stock to B&M to 997 to 997 ssk. I will be adding a B&M transmounted adapter for further reduction in conjunction with the 997 ssk.

All it took was a few missed shifts and the constant additional shift effort for me to get rid of my B&M. Wanted something short but refined which the B&M didn't offer, for me at least.

What he said.

I too am ditching the B&M for a 997 shifter this weekend.

Thanks guys. I figured the OEM 997 SSK would be the way to go. I have read that the cup cables is an additional component that will help this mod. How does that help, does it just beef it up?

Try the OEM 997 ssk first and see how you like it.

Cup Cables are pretty expensive and not sure if you might or might not notice anything unless you got lots of money and time...
