Durametric/Piwis cable Ingnition ranges 1 &2 mean?
looking to clear a code will be happy with the $35 Piwi's from EUC (including shipping to US) as long as your Pcar is 06 back. I installed a virtual pc on my Mac and and it worked - like others have stated - it does recognize that the cable is counterfeit. But works anyway. I even updated the software at Durametric and that went perfectly too ... However, I'm trying to understand what the Ingnition range 1 &2 means. From the text I have these definitions, and below that my info... which doesn't look good if I'm reading it correctly. Can anyone tell me what this means?
Number of ignitions range 1: This value is displayed in two parts. For example 1524 / 283h: the first value is the number of individual spark ignitions at the rev limiter, the second value is the operating hours of the last time a spark ignition was registered. So in this case there have been a total of 1524 spark ignitions the last one occurred at 283 hours.
Number of ignitions range 2: This value is displayed in two parts. For example 125 / 153h: the first value is the number of individual spark ignitions above the rev limiter the second value is the operating hours of the last time the rev limiter was exceeded. In this example there have been 125 ignitions above the rev limiter the last time it occurred was at 153 hours.

No 1 is just how many ignitions into the rev limiter, nothing really to worry about. # 2 shows abuse such as extended rev limiter involvement or downshifting into wrong gear at high speed. #1 is not so bad, we all can get into the rev limiter, however #2 is really bad. No way to clear these that I know of.

thx cornbread - It did not look good to me - And might explain why the flywheel was missing chunks.. I'm not interested in clearinmg these - just was trying to figure out what they mean. Part of my first sentance didn't make it onto my post - I can def reccomend the $35 cable

No idea what 135 ignitions means in terms of time spent above the rev limiter, but mechanical overrevs are definitely bad news bears. Pretty sure 398 would be the last operating hour for which it was detected.

Thx all - that tells that @ around 12k on the clock it was downshifted wrong for 4/10ths of a second.. but that *also* tells me that the dealership schister guy *almost* redlinned it 41 hrs ago ....
