Oil and filter change...
About a year ago to the day, and 5k miles ago, I changed my oil and filter . So today seemed like a good time to put in some fresh(and on sale) Mobil 1 synthetic oil, and a new magnetic drain plug(from Pelican) and sealing ring, along with a new Mann filter kit. After a long drain I torqued in the new plug, slipped on a new rubber o-ring for the plastic OEM filter housing and added a little over 8 Quarts of Mobil 1. Was surprised to find a little 'gunk' sitting below the oil fill cap, first time. I've seen it in my Porsche. Shorter drives=moisture in engine= gunk.
Cut open my old filter and examined the filter material for any pieces of metal or plastic, and found only a few shiny particles, but I was surprised there weren't more particles present. Looks like a small oil weep on the passenger side, very back of engine. I'm guessing a spark plug tube, which I'm planning to do all of them in a couple of weeks. Wiped the area clean so I can better gauge the extent of the oil weep.
Just wanted to mention how happy I am EVERY time I drive my 14 year old Porsche that has been totally reliable during my almost 6 year ownership. This is the longest I have owned a Porsche, and this is my third. If you are on the fence, unable to decide if you should buy/own a Porsche 996 (3.4 MY99),then go out and drive some, you won't be sorry.

Nice post from both Steve and Pete!
Mine is also a '99, about 800 miles short of 100K. It's been a great, extremely reliable vehicle and after almost six years still makes me grin!
Looking forward to the next 100K!

Generally, I work on the assumption when from a work computer my manager can see and read everything I see and read and type.
I love my job more than life itself and welcome this monitoring by my most wonderful manager overlord.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Not this web site. I will read this and other post in detail while at home.

If it is a networked PC chances are all your LT has to do is go to his/her desk computer and call up browsing history from your computer.
