I recently bought two remote heads from Sunset for $128@, came with the head, remote electronics and the immobilizer pill in each. I got the one button version which I think list for about $189. Then the other day when I was going to get them programed I could only find one of my keys so I bit the bullet and bought a new key blank from the dealer, it was only about $35 plus tax full price including the cutting. Not too bad.

However when I got to the dealer, which had said to just come by and if I could wait they would do it right away, they said they were too busy and I had to make an appointment for Friday. They charge $159, which is one hour for the programming and said they would do as many keys as I wanted for the one hour labor (although I think you can only program three keys).

It has been over a year since my second remote quit and I am looking forward to having a remote again.

Hi Guys,

Just my experience from the UK

When I needed a new key i phoned Porsche they took my VIN number and ordered me one direct from Germany pre cut to my cars original locks (obviously if you have changed or had your locks changed since this wont work but in the majority of cases I’m guessing this is unlikely). Dealer programmed key once arrived. Job done

£154 Inc vat ($240 in today’s conversion rate!)

Minimal fuss... But maybe this is another one of those ROW things

Well there is a turn up.

This guy is about 20 minutes from where I live.

I have heard about how good they are.

I will go there at the weekend and let you know it might be worth the postage for you guys.

Perfectly possible to laser cut keys from a photo loads of company's in the UK do it and im sure in the USA.

the seller is not stating that he programs the fob just to clear up any confusion.

If I can't figure out why I can't snap my remote key back together, it'll cost me $300!? Yikes!
