Zook, better gearing is why you gapped him I presume. My buddy has an M3 as well. Our driving experience is almost equal but when we track I gap him quite easily. (yes, even before the 3.8)

Ah OK. None the less having such a dip isn't something good so as far as performance goes someone with the same dyno numbers with a flatter tq curb will leave him in the dust.
but then it rises again! which a normal 3.6 doesn't do... probably due to the high flow cats and free flow exhaust which gives him top end... trust me his car is fast @ mosport... something about this dyno is definitely off when no 996 made more than 300 crank horsepower here... hmm

Yes but it is a different car which possibly has a greater drivetrain loss, aerodynamics and weight. I think the dyno accuracy is fine.
A friend of mine has a Turbo g35 coupe and he and went to dyno the same day. He had 70 HP more to the wheels than I and I easily followed him to high speeds from zero. Within 2 weeks he went to have more boost programmed in. Lol

To be honest even tho this Dyno is State of the Art only thing that really counts is the Actual Power the car produces on the Highway at High Speeds. For example my buddies Built N/A E46 M3 puts down 298 WHP on the Dyno, i ran him last friday night 80kmph to 240kmph+ and i had him by 2 cars. So mine being 250 WHP and his being 50hp more and i still beating him... Its Weird, and he is a very very good driver.

I'm still concerned as to why the real hp on Greg's car didn't show as at least 330-335 hp given his engine is well broken in; is chipped and has hi flow cats etc... something ain't calibrated with that dyno... on the other hand at least you have a baseline.

and the 3.6 is heavier than the 3.4... the 3.4 also responds quite well to mods... the 3.6 not so much... but lets not turn this into a 3.4 vs 3.6 thread... yes the 3.4 has roughly 20 lf/bs less torque across the rpm band
