Unfortunately, there's no way to get them made by Saturday.

Although I sold my 996 a few years ago, I loved it and would definitely buy the shirt.

Amazing how the 996 continues to get snubbed.....didn't Porsche do it too, with their rollout....the side shots of "all" the 911s, in Silver, EXCLUDING the 996, right?
So, I guess I must be content with my 996 "Volkswagen?"
I love my glorified Beetle! Hell, my love for Volkswagens and Audis is what lead me to Porsches in the first place. The engine is in a different place, but the engineering and parts all look familiar when I'm under the car.

Seriously though, omitting the 996 on that shirt was a really stupid decision from a marketing standpoint. Porsche sold more 996s than any of the previous generations, why would you snub a huge percentage of your target audience?

I soooooo want one of those 996 shirts!!!!! If you make a run of them please let us know.

As for the rest of this thread, I seriously doubt any of you are really, truly upset about this, are you? It's a frickin t shirt for heavens sake! And as mentioned, it's for a silly, albeit HUGE, east coast Porsche event; it's petty. I'll assume you all drive, drove, or will someday drive a 996 so who gives a crap if it got left off a t shirt?

The 996 and Boxster saved Porsche as a production car company.
The 996 GT-3 Cups and RSRs saved and then rejuvinated Porsche's racing program.
As a resident of Eastern Pennsylvania, I am not surpirsed to learn that some PCA'ers in Hershey do not know this.
We Pennsylvanians like to joke that our state has Pittsburg on one end, Philadelphia on the other, and Alabama in the middle.

Roadsessions:
I distincly remember a print add by Porsche. All the 911's (in Silver) lined up showing the front left corners....but no 996s.......maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, you're right. "HUGE" may be overstating it a bit. I had an SC for a few years and would go up looking for stuff and noticed it was getting smaller and smaller each year. I haven't bothered the past 2 years.

I for one am boycotting this years Hershey swap-meet. That will show them!!!

I can't believe they show the 901 on the shirt and not the 996. Oh well, fu*k em!!!
The shirt is wrong on many accounts.

The 901 wasn't even really a model. It was what Porsche called the 911 before Peugeot cried foul on its allegation thatt it had the exclusive right to 3 digit car names with zeros in the middle in many countries. I believe Porsche changed the model name to 911 before it officially went on sale.

As for each model's importance, only the original classic 911 and 996 can claim to be revolutionary. All of the other 911 (964, 993, 997, 991) models can only claim to be evolutionary.

The 997 was little more than 996 with aesthetic changes for the first few years of its production.

The way it should be...

-Eric

P.S. Those 996 mock up T-shirts are great!

I'll take a couple of those 996 shirts if somebody actually makes 'em.

And no, I'm not truly pissed. Sh*t, we all know the 996 is superior in every way to its aircooled predecessors and that without the 996 there would be no 997 or 991. Jealosy is an evil b*tch.

I think the 996 and the 997 are the same car anyway... you can switch out the headlights hood and fenders in a few hrs... The reason the 997 conversion is so easy is it is basically the same car... Try bilding a 996, out of a 993... Not possible...
Other major car companies change lights, interiors, and engine sizes, and its just a newer model... Regardless, the 996 is Much more significant in the lineup, and should be in place of the (aesthetically revised 996) on the shirt...
