WHAT HE WROTE
Buddy,
Take a chill pill, would ya? It's a t shirt not a manifesto
Best regards
Alan Pozner
WHAT POZNER SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN:
Friends,
Boy, is my face red! We really blew this one, and I apologize to all the 996 owners out there. You have been (and are) an important part of our Porsche family, and I hope you'll come and join us for this annual event....we'd love to have you and you'll be welcomed with open arms.
Best regards

In the end, I decided not to go to Hershey. It wasn't really about the shirt 'cause I just wasn't going to buy one. It came down to Poszner's ****ty attitude. I know I only cost CPA a whopping $10, but it's the principle of the thing. OK, so I didn't get to see a bunch of Porsches today. Instead, I'll have a beer and work on my 996.

I have got to be the first up with an album from Hershey Park Swap Meet from today. Check it out

I bought a nice white shirt with stitch in Porsche emblem and a Red rain type jacket again with stitched in Porsche words on it. Strangely enough did not see many 996 in the car parks. Maybe they did just boycott the meeting. I didn't lol. Anyway check the album , you just may see yourself or your car.

As I interpreted the comments, it's not so much about the t-shirt as it is about the chapter president's response. A simple, "sorry about that; our mistake" would probably have made most of the complaints go away.
One has to wonder how representatives of an organization that is supposed to be devoted to and knowledgeable about Porsche cars could miss the first water cooled 911 produced.

Here's the response I received from the Swap Meet Chairman, when I emailed to ask why we were ignored. Very reasonable:
"I truly believe you do not understand the true foundation behind PCA.
Having been in the club for over 25 years and held most positions within our region and a few in National....the real foundation of PCA is the people and relationships that are created....the car becomes secondary.
The t-shirt and the entire event is organized and run by club volunteers....including the design of the t-shirt. In addition....a number of 911 model years were excluded do to size restrictions of the shirt.....not just the 996 was missed.
If you truly believe you should not come to the Porsche Only Swap Meet, because your model of the 911 was not included on the t-shirt design....then that is your choice.
I know for a fact...the true PCA member is about friendship, the events...and then enjoying these relationships through PCA events. A negative attitude such as you write.....truly is not in the spirit of PCA.
I know the spirit of our volunteers is positive and work hard to put on the best event they can."

^^^ Obviously holding a position in a PCA club does not require diplomacy. I mean I get the whole "its about the people thing" but this guy needs to know how to deal with ALL kinds of people, not just the ones who are sitting around parking lots blowing sunshine up each others asses abouth their cars.
And they're letting replicas in to the show now? I had a replica 356 that was done up as a 59 Carrera, it was gorgeous. I was told that I wouldn't be permitted to park it in the Porsche Parking because it wasn't real. I guess things have changed.

What a ****. Its very obvious when they include every main model from the 964 to 991 that excluding the 996 is deliberate, not a space issue, make all the cars smaller if its a space thing. Dickhole.

What other "911 model years" were omitted?
It included the 901 (concept - which wasn't even a model), 911, 964, 993, 997 and 991. Everything else was a variant (S, SC, RS, GT2, GT3, C2, C4, C4S, Turbo, etc.) of one of those models. Even the 930 was built on the original 911. What else is missing...other than the 996?
