Default GT3 swaybar dimensions?

In the process of updating my suspension, I managed to come into ownership of two sets of GT3 swaybars (front and rear). I was just cleaning them up in preparation for installation and noticed that one of the fronts was a little heavier than the other. When I took out my calipers I was surprised to see that one bar was larger in diameter than the other. One bar measures 30mm in OD while the other is about 27mm in OD. Other than diameter they seem to be exactly the same in shape. Both bars seem to be hollow. From what I've found online the stock GT3 bar is supposed to be 26.8mm. So what is this 30mm diameter bar from? GT2?

I'm still interested in whether anyone knows what a 30mm diameter bar that matches the dimensions of the GT3 bar is intended for...

Fresh bump for a fresh week.

For the 996GT3, the tube diameter is 26.8mm with a 4mm thickness for the front anti-roll bar with 5 settings. The rear bar combines a choice of four stiffness settings with a tube diameter of 20.7mm and a tube thickness of 2.8mm.

Thanks, so the question is what if the front bar is 30mm in OD with the same 5 settings and geometry? Was there an alternate version of the GT3 bar produced at some point?

What about Cup car bars? Anyone know if they are the same diameter as GT3?

That was my thought, but I couldn't track down specs on the cup bars.

If the 30 mm bar is "factory" then it is most likely from a cup car--but I'm no expert.

Word to the wise--from painful personal experience--a 30 mm front bar will overwhelm lighter springs and dampers. By "lighter", I mean a spring under 500 lbs, and pretty much any factory damper, or aftermarket "sport/performance" system such as a PSS 9 or 10. Those are typically sprung at ~ 200lbs up front and are not valved to handle more than 700 lbs. A better system is of course a different story.

Bottom line, 30 mm is a monster bar, and everything else needs to match.

From what I've come across cup bars are listed as 26.8 & 20.7mm.
