I still get a high idle for the first 20 seconds or so when cold starting the car. But after that it behaves as it normally would except for it feeling like it's more willing to rev.
here's my diy for FVD cats.... same stuff though.

I agree but if you consider the factory option that is close to $4500!
But I did cringe a bit when giving my credit card number as I know the cats themselves could be had for significantly less.
If these end up failing I'll take it to a muffler shop and have them cut out the old and weld in new ones.

Maybe through a reseller they're cheaper?

Whoa they raised the price? at $1795 they are in Cargraphic and FVD range me thinks. FWIW the cats sound really REALLY good when coupled with PSE or aftermarket exhausts. Fernando's clip doesn't quite capture how sweet these things sound at WOT. But, I already thought the markup on these was excessive. Glad I bought mine before the increase. All whining aside.... the cats are probably my favorite mod as the car screams when the pedal is floored. GT3ish for sure.

I also have the Fabspeed xcats on my 02 C2, but with Fabspeed mufflers. I agree with everything Fernando has said. At low RPM's, the sound is very civil, and at higher RPM's it just sounds beastly and mean, but not painful from a db standpoint.
