Default So I got the call

The new owner of the silver aero picked up his new ride and is on his way down to Florida. My new ride got delivered as well. I was able to get both cars together for a shot.

Parting is such sweet sorrow...looks like your replacement will help you forget the water pumper. Beautiful, Chao.

It sure is Steve. I put a lot of time and work in the 996. It has also allowed me to meet a few great Rennlisters who share the same passion. I must admit it was hard watching it drive away but I know it is going to a good home where the owner will put it through the paces. The new owner is a DE instructor so I am sure it will spend a lot of time on the track.

Agreed. The Turbo is sick. Chao, we new a review when you can please. Always an untouchable dream like car for me. Interesting to me how you reached back in time for a 1997 993TT. Any track days planned?

I wanted to chime in and say congratulations Chao on the turbo. It looks (and sounds) even better in person. I also want to say thanks again for a great transaction. Your care and maintenance of the 996 definitely showed on the 1150 mile trek back to Florida (mostly in the rain). Not one hiccup. I really enjoyed meeting you, and don't worry I plan on enjoying it and maintaining it in a way that would make you proud.

I put about 100 miles on it between yesterday and today. I have to say that the TT is in another league with 400hp and 400lbs tq. 3rd gear reeves a bit faster than 996 NA's 2nd gear above 4K RPM so speed comes quick. 1st and 2nd gear changes is more of a timing feel or it hits fuel cut off before you know it. I have to get better at it. I am sure the 996 TT is just as much fun. This car needs an alignment so I am going to make arrangements to get it done at Dan Jacobs this week.

I went back to a 993TT because I will not be spending as much time tinkering Pcars with a newborn child. 993TT throws you back in time and I want a special feeling when I get into a pcar now. I did not want a 993NA (although I came close to pulling the trigger a few times) because it is slower than a 996 and it does not handle as well. This 993TT has many of the 993 handling and speed issues dialed out.

This modded 993TT is a solid investment in giving everything I am looking for above. It needs a little bit of work to get it where I would like it but they are not issues that will leave me stranded on the road. That will let me coming back to this fun hobby.

You are a trooper Kevin. I hope you would jump in here once in a while and let us know how you doing. Driving straight back home starting with NYC rush hour setting the tone demands recognition. That car has been very good to me so I think it will treat you just as well. Enjoy it on the track where the mods feels most at home. Watching you drive away was the first time I have ever heard my car from the outside speeding away. I like the sound....
