Default Sprint booster on my 996 mk2 tip

Yes I was one of those skeptics that wondered what is the point of the sprint booster when you can just mash the throttle faster and harder

In my opinion it has totally woken my car up and makes her much more tractable - it allows instant throttle blip downshifts and just makes the car much more fun to drive

Passing and on ramp merges are easier and around town the car is easier to drive with no lugging

I have found I just leave in the highest setting

I purchase from gmp performance - its was $300 vs $329 elsewhere

Installation was about 20 mins

Ha! Me too! I've had mine on for a month or so. I leave it on red all the time! Its what the throttle mapping should have been from the factory!

I've been thinking of adding this to my 2000 Cab for a while now. I would love to hear your more in depth thoughts on the before/after experiences. Many thanks in advance!

I've been one of those skeptics for a while but the absurdly lazy throttle response on my '99 C4 is getting tiresome. It seems kind of pricey for what you get but it solves the only problem I have with this car.

If I'm not mistaken, your 99 does not have the egas but has a proper cable throttle. With that system, you shouldn't be experiencing the type of throttle lag that we're talking about. Either that, or our throttle response must be really...really slow by comparison!

All C4's are e-gas.

I'm not sure how much more in-depth, I can be. Install was super easy. 10 - 15 minutes upside down with a flashlight in my mouth. Unclip the throttle connection, clip in the sprint booster, reconnect the throttle wire.

I'm not sure how big a deal the 'off', 'green', 'yellow', and 'red' adjustable light thing is. It took me a day to move from green, to yellow, and then to red. Mine has been on red since then. It basically takes the 'just off-throttle' dead spot out of the equation. I've read that the EPA mandated off throttle dead spots. Maybe an old wives tale?

I've chipped a bunch of past cars and from the seat of the pants, this feels the same. I'm sure there are many on this site who are far more technical than I am, who know the real technical difference between Sprint booster and a true ECU flash. I've been super happy with the Sprint Booster.

Thanks for the correction on all C4's being Egas Doug. Thanks as well Aaron for the extra input. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a SprintBooster and give it a try. I will report back my experience for those considering it as well.

I am guessing I know the answer, but how does this affect your gas mileage?

I predict it will reduce gas mileage

Mine didn't change - as you still accelerate as fast or slow as you want, it merely takes less pedal travel to do so.

Are there any competitors to this product. Hate the lag, but $300 is $300. Just wondering if there alternatives that work as well. Has the performance improvement held up for everyone?

I liked mine, until it left me stranded on the top of a freeway bridge in rush hour. I had to crawl under dash in traffic and remove it,then the car drove home fine. Sprint booster did offer to sell me another one. I was under dash with door open leg sticking out terrified. Always carry road flares.

One of the best mods I've done to my car as far as driveability is concerned. I must have the first generation product as I don't believe mine is adjustable.
