Default CDR220 RADIO ***** GOING TO MUSH!

Past being just super sticky now I can squeeze them and they get distorted.
So I ordered new ones from Becker and there sticky out of the bag! Infact one I had a hard time getting out. Now here's my question. Has anyone painted them or covered them with some kind of product?

Thanks

I still have my original CDR220 and don't have any problems like that. I would contact Becker and see what they say.

I used Performix Plasti Dip multi-purpose rubber coating, black color. I used about four light coatings and they came out great, no stickiness. Mine were really sticky so this was a great, cheap way to fix them. Hope this helps!

I used Plasti dip on mine and they really do come out well. See the link below for a DIY.

I washed mine, then after they dried, I put them in a baggie with some Talc. Shake to coat, brush off excess. The Talc sticks and leaves a matte finish. I did this a year ago, and they are still matte and non-sticky.

I just found out the hard way... NEVER use an oil based interior cleaner or conditioner on these *****... it will just happen again.

Default Aluminum billet **** covers

I had the same issue with sticky *****. I now have aluminum billet covers that glue over the old *****. They are in different anodized colors. You can contact me if you are interested in getting some.

Best solution is to lose that terrible unit and buy a better one. I am still amazed at how much changing the head unit improved my stereo's sound! Now my CDR-220 sits on a shelf, ***** melting and all!
