Following another member story with the Cab window regulator and the impact of the cab roof operation - I wanted to share this with you:
1. you can pull the darn thing out without messing with any of the roof mechanisms.
2. sometime you will be able to save the day and refurbish the part using.. well look at the Pic and notice the "donor" material I used to manufacture a replacement for the shattered original pulley.

Congrats on the purchase! Looks like a nice cab! This is the first 996 I've seen with the new 997 turbo wheels. It certainly makes it look more modern!

Another DIY I had to deal with, was the notorious main window regulator.
the damn thing had so much cable slack it was amazing.
less so was the carnage I found once opened the driver door,
torn foam cover, amateur micro-switch fix, missing screws, Etc.
oh - BTW you can do the whole thing without removing or disconnecting the airbag (providing you disconnected the car battery and waited at least 5 min) (manual say 1min)

Nice N shiney!! Do you have another pic of the rear regulator with a larger field of view? One that shows a little more of the car to give a better idea of car/part relationship?
The old front one looks like it is 6" longer, thats some stretching?!!?
Your wife is going to be upset next time she uses that cutting board.

Thanks all, she does look good with those turbo wheels..
Also has H&R springs for lower stance and great cornering performance
not for comfort though.. (ouch my back!) everything else is pretty much stock.
fpb111 - here is another pic of the part location, its right behind the conv roof cylinder and can be carefully wiggled out without disturbing this touchy mechanism
(secure the electrical connector and be prepared to lose some skin in the process but its worth it..)
