So it's the oil? I knew it! You need to run 0w40. I wonder if I ought to do a search for prior oil threads...
All kidding aside. I'm sorry for your misfortune. I hope you get it back with minimal wallet pain and suffering. I just had my tranny rebuilt on the 99 996 a few months ago and went with the IMS upgrade, RMS, and AOS also.
It's got 113,000 miles and keeps on ticking.

Looks like just like computers, the broken parts add up fast. My point when you are in the business of fixing broken somethings you will have a hell of a lot of broken somethings! Lets not start a panic here
You asked for it.. Parts here starting from the 547/ 4 Cam Carrera engine, 356, 914, VW Type 1 and M96/M97 through a 2008 Cayman. This isn't even all of it, so much that it keeps falling off the shelves so we had to box some of it up. Note those driveshaft pieces.. Those are from our engine dyno- We have made so much power and RPM that the dyno has exploded on a few occasions.

Wow!!!!
Those pictures are amazing, thank for sharing Jake....
I have a remanufactured Porsche engine I had installed 3 years ago now, because of an intermix failure... Hope she doesn't end up on your death shelf...
