Don't forget to get the small skinny tires for the front. Just remember not to corner too fast with the car. It'll understeer like a bi***.

In all seriousness, I agree with Spender, 0-60 times are relevent whether we want to admit it or not. Would I like my car to retain it's driving dynamics and feel yet accelerate from 0-60 like a new Corvette Z06? Hell Yes!!!

The times I'm referencing were determined by Car and Driver. BMW has even faster times. Either way you split it, my M3 is faster than my 996.

yup...then that pesky Miata would finally be behind you

as for the OP statement, i agree its good they did this, and I like the 993 in the mix...remember who they are aiming the info at...potential buyers....

996 owners are not buyers because they are happy with the bargain they have already - why spend an additional $90+k for......headlights

OK "BMW guy" (and that sounds like a statement a BMW owner would make too, but I won't get into that) - no disrespect intended, but come on friend, this is a Porsche forum.

Anyway, even with my newly-discovered "hot" 0-60 time, thanks for the heads up not to take on an M3!

I'll throw another log in the fire . . . just remember, that is the stats of the 3.4L 996.

The 3.6L 996's time from 0-62 mph is 5.0 seconds.

I have nothing to add other than my son said this weekend as we were washing the 996 before winter that we should call her "sally" because except for being red she looks like Lighting McQueen's gf.
