Default Lighting / Interior Mods

Here are some lighting and interior mods I have been working on. It has been a lot of trouble to get this working so I don't recommend anyone take this on.

I think it makes the car look much more modern. Orange looks 80s to me.

Thanks. Alpine ida-X305s.

I was thinking of getting a 7" screen but the interfaces feel like junk after owning an iPad. I just use my iPhone for nav. The head unit is great for Bluetooth audio and has a good pandora app.

Does your car have the fiber optic system connection to the amp?

That interesting. I would have went as far as changing just the dome light bulbs and other easier accessible bulbs only. As for behind the dash tiny little bulbs, it must of been tough changing every single one to LED.

I've always liked that mod, but in the end you cannot change the digital part of the climate control and gauges, they will always be orange. I've always wanted to do a mod like this on my old 300CI, but I never ended up doing it.

Changing the bulbs behind the dash is a piece of cake. You remove the dash, remove bulbs, put new led's with color of choice, voila.

Changing the lights on the aircon unit is tricky. 22 soldering points and very tiny leds. If you know how to solder electric stuff is just time consuming.

You could change the gauges... but why? Orange looks as modern as any. If you make the lights white, specially.

They sell both kits for a few bucks, white, blue...

The gauges for 2002+ are LED and not bulbs.
I have replaced every single bulb to LED. I have also replaced every orange LED and they all had to be soldered. That's why I say I don't recommend this. On the LCD displays there is a plastic translucent orange filter. I replaced them to a white by using plastic from a school binder.
The center display on the 2002+ cluster has multi color LEDs that can't be changed. I covered the existing bulbs with black tape and bought an LED matrix. I had to gave it external power to light up the display.

OP - Could you give us a bulb list for all the bulbs you used for the:

Dome light
Reading lights
lower door lights

And I think that's it?

I noticed you have the licence plate ones as well, I love those the most!

There are 3 dome lights. 1 glovebox. 2 door. 2 license plate. 1 engine light. 1 under hood. I also recommend changing the parking lights to LED. My incandescents were burnt out. You can change the side marker lights too.

I'll see if I can find the info. I got most stuff from superbrightleds.com

Ya, please fill us in on those details. I seen a guy in 6speedonline do this on his Vanatge. It's very interesting and easy to do (Not talking about the behind the dash work).
