Default My seatbelt wont work

My seatbelt latch wont engage when I put the belt in. Is this a common problem, and does anyone know the fixes?

there have been a few

things to try include contact cleaner (like electrical stuff) and spray in there
blowing with compressed air (wear goggles because anything in there will shoot right in your eye)
replace receptacle - order from Sunset Porsche or find a pre-owned one

others might have additions ideas - please report back what fixed it

One more quick question before I get off and try to fix the car. Can I remove the part without having any sensor issues? Do I need to reset the ecu?

the belt latch has a little cable in the end that plug under the seat, to control if the seat belt is engaged or not.

you will have to remove the seat out the car to be able to remove the cable. It is a little bit a pain to remove as the cable go through the seat. not big deal but you need the seat to be out of the car and lay in its back (prepare something to lay the seat on).

check this link to see how it is done

You will get a CEL if you turn the key on with the seat/seatbelt buckle out. Take the key out and put it in your tool box until you have everything back together.

Awesome! I tried to blow the buckle out but it still didnt work. I am ordering a new part and I am going to take the old one out and see if I can take it apart and see what is causing the issue.
