Default Best roads in the Bay Area region for weekend drives?

I love to drive, and I know a lot of great roads, probably a few that will be recommended here, but I'm sure I don't know them all.

Let's say the from Mendocino in the North to Monterey in the South, what are your favorite (top 3?) roads to take your P-car out for a weekend drive?

Highway 9 and skyline road are great with no traffic...also be sure to check out the Marin headlands road on the west side of 101 after crossing the golden gate...

The headlands road is more scenic than for hard driving...many bikes on weekends but definitely worth it if the weather is good!

It’s been 15 years since I left the bay area so they may have widened 152, either way to the coast via Hecker Pass or the central valley via Pacheco Pass. Hwy 1 north of the Golden Gate is always a good place to get your passenger nauseated

My brother used to live in Disco Bay and the roads up that mountain with all of those windmills was very nice from what I can recall (I'm sure you know the road name). I drove a viper on those roads back then in 2000.

Hwy 128 from Cloverdale to the coast is argueably one of the best roads in CA...and much of it has new pavement. It is a must for your list!

Cheers,

Mines Road from Livermore to Mt. Hamilton and then back down to San Jose. Stop by the "Y" for a burger.

Hey guys, I see more and more Bay Area owners popping out with this thread. We should organize something for a nice drive, no? Thoughts anyone?

Skaggs road or 128. Driven these many times with the SVR-PCA on the annual Mendo tour. We had three groups. Scenic, Fast and Insanely Fast. I led the Insanely Fast group on Skaggs road.

thanks everyone, awesome suggestions. Also I'm still for getting a group together in the Bay Area, but I just had hip surgery so the 996 has been getting a lot of garage time. Probably 2 weeks till I can do a real drive. But I can't wait. first time since I've owned it that I haven't driven it at least a few times a week. My Acura TL is fine, but it's no 996.
