Default I am about to do something stupid....

trading 04 C4S (23,000 miles) w/ 11 GTS (white, PDK, sport suspension). My wife and I test drove it yesterday and she fell in love w/ it (...more than me, really and she is not a car person). Took a bit of courage to post this thread given the current economy.....

Should I pull the trigger ? I love my 996.....please help me to make the decision . Your input's much appreciated.

man, if you can do it, run like the wind! if my wife was behind an upgrade like that, and i could afford it, it'd be all over with but the paperwork.

Only you can decide if your financial situation will support it. But if your wife is supportive, that's half the battle.

What are they giving you on the C4S? That would be a key factor to me...

Absolutely, especially if your wife is supportive. A GTS would be a great Porsche to own according to all the reading I've done. It's okay that you love your C4S, I'd do the deal in a heartbeat.BUT, you will need to put on more miles...maybe your wife can help with that.Keep us in the loop, can't wait to see your pics.

I think the main thing to think about is that the new 911 (991) will be there in 6 months..

The GTS I think will always be a great car, lots of uprgade baked in the price, but when a new model comes up it is hard to resist.

I love the GTS and the idea behind it but I'd wait for the new model to get a better deal on the GTS, or to simply buy the new one. There should still be GTS on the lot next year.

>>> If money is no issue, best of both world -> enjoy the GTS now, get a 991 in two years

Wives are like banks used to be - they never let you overextend yourself especially when it comes to care - the fact she is supportive is a good litmus test.
Go for it and we will all live vicariously

That's the stupidest question I have seen on the board in a long time. "My wife likes the new Porsche and I'm not sure if I should get a newer model"...do it ASAP dumba$$ (with all respect).
