Default They took her away on a flatbed today:( squishy clutch

So yesterday after runnning through first gear pretty heavily (fully warmed up of course) the clutch pedal got very squishy/soft. It was obvious something wasn't right.

I have noticed this before but only when shifting after WOT from first to second. Almost like when I push the car really hard the clutch would get very easy/soft. I thought it was just all in my head because it seemed fine 99% of the time.

Well this time it seems to have stayed this way. After cooling off in the garage and trying to back out it got worse. The clutch feels extremely soft and almost like it doesn't want to come back up off the floor. It feels like engagement point is almost down on the floor compared to before.

Goes into gear ok but it does have a bit of vibration backing out of the driveway. No visible leaks or unusual noises or anything and the engine is running smooth.

Anyway, the car is on its way to Moorespeed in Austin. I've been getting ready to do a pro-active clutch/IMSR but wasn't expecting it so soon. Hoping for simple hydraulic issue but wouldn't cry if I needed a new clutch.

Many have noted that a clutch in need of replacement got harder to press not softer. Anyway, GL and hope it's an easy fix.

That would make it harder to press the clutch, not softer.

Could be the slave cylinder gave out. Pita to replace but a helluva lot cheaper than the clutch. Good luck, fingers crossed

well I just got an update...sounds like the likely candidate is busted pressure plate. Seems the hydraulics are good.

I was expecting to do the clutch soon anyway so this isn't the end of the world. It is just bad timing finance wise.

Silver lining is that I'll be getting an IMSR while they are in there.

Mine got very soft very suddenly and the pedal didn't want to come back up very fast when the pressure plate broke. Sounds like your in the same boat.

After giving it hard I sometimes notice this, but it always goes back to normal fast. Weird.

I had fingers break off of my pressure plate. Didn't notice change in stiffness so much as the terrible whirring noise it made with the clutch in. It happens. Mine broke almost as soon as I got the car.

Definitely op for an IMS upgrade install while you have the clutch out.

Should I go ahead and have the transmission rebuilt while they are in there too?
