Default The 996 cost of ownership is killing me:(

I have a serious case of "I have to drive somewhere" every single day. I thought it might wear off after a few months but it seems to be getting worse every day.

The problem is every time I come up with a reason to leave the house so I can drive, I have to follow through with that reason and buy whatever it is I left for.

Having this car as a daily driver is costing me way more than I expected. Just not in the maintenance department...all I've had to do is change the oil, filter, and input gas.

Or, alternatively, it's paying off in dividends since now you have more reasons to drive which, of course, fuels the economy. See you're doing it for the benefit of an ailing economy. That's it.

No but seriously, when we have to take the Acadia I always get a bit sad. If I need to haul something the first thing I do now is start trying to figure out if it'll fit in the car.

Statements like that without knocking on wood (or forcing others to knock on wood for you) in this forum carries a penalty of 1 month without any whining allowed.

I bought mine when my office relocated closer to my house. I thought I'd buy a low mileage Porsche and put a few thousand on it a year. I'd ride my motorcycle to work - save the miles on the car.

That plan is not working out the way I thought...

I LOVE to drive this thing! Every chance I get.

Yeah, I lucked onto a perfect, low mileage, one owner '99 that I made my daily driver. It's no longer perfect nor low mileage, and I wouldn't change a thing. What's the purpose of owning one of these if you can't enjoy it as much as possible?

For the price of a loaded Nissan Sentra you can have a 996 as your daily driver.
