Cool

Sold my SUV 18 months ago and use the 996 exclusively. Was my DD to work for years (less gas, more fun than the SUV), but now it gets a ton a mileage as my retirement car.
I do miss the cargo carrying capacity (volume) of the SUV so I am considering a wild and crazy option. Wife wants a convertible, automatic, and I need more occasional toting for large or long objects for home improvement projects (wife currently drives a '07 Honda Civic coupe but misses the '98 Chrysler Sebring convertible she had before). What better choice than an early 996 Tip Cab? As long as I only go to Home Depot or Best Buy on sunny days, a top down cab should cover me for those big items. LOL! Cheaper to buy than an SUV. Cheaper to maintain than buying an SUV (would sell off the Honda rather than go back to owning three vehicles again).

Is that too much like owning two boats? Because I already have a boat. So would that be like owning three boats. LOL!

This thread has completely foiled my attempt to control my urge to drive the 996, had the car for a month now and the most I can stay not driving it was 2 days........

Mine is a DD. I've got the Cayenne for bad winter conditions. One thing life has taught me, if you don't drive that biatch hard, someone else will after you paid for it.
hehehehe... thanks dude
I'd say something witty but I've got to run... go get some milk... in LA!

It's not where you're going... it's how you get there!

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

[QUOTE=DrScientist;8830691]the mayor said we had to evacuate nyc = road trip to western PA!

btw if you've never been to see fallingwater, you really should check it out.
amazing piece of work, and amazing roads for putting the car to work.[/QUOTE

Is that house a shlep to get to? I'd love to see it. The most iconic FLR house. Taliesin has the history though, rather see that.

Yep me too....especially on weekends, I live those commercials.....now it's a truck! The bargain price gets me out of a lot of snob accusations (althought I bought high...sigh) so as Carl Spakler said "I got that goin' for me"......

Love the car though, absolutely love it!

Ode to Porsche Love

I love my Porsche
Love it so
I love to drive it
To and fro'

I love to drive it
On the track
Or through the mountains,
There and back

I love to cruise
It's love, amore
I love to take
A back road tour

My Porsches' red
it screams, "I'm free!"
And so Guards Red
It's gotta be.

I love the leather
Love its smell
What has transpired there
I'll never tell.

The tires are black
The rims are big
Though it burns Premium
I don't give a fig.

Faster than the
Wind can catch
Forever to this Porsche
I latch.

Sixteen others
I have owned
Sixteen Porsches
I've not loaned.

If others want
To share the thrills
Let them foot
Their own damn bills.

Nice Poetry Mark ! And I second the others comments about driving the car daily. Only reason I do not drive her Every day is my wife and I can carpool to work and if it is Sunny she wants to drive the 968 Cab. I enjoy riding shotgun with a sky view. When the weather get cold and rainy the C4 will be much more of the every day Porsche, That is what I bought it for.
