So, you take a knocksensor. Map the internal noises from healthy engine and engine that has known issue. Calibrate the sensor electronics for this frequency, and there you got it. Sensor that monitors the noises that are caused by faulty ims....

Am I right? Well this is how I would do it

No problem.. It would be fun to see if anyone could even get close to it with a guess... I would ask anyone with a guess to PM it to me rather than posting it. I know we have (at least) one troll that watches what we do here and is copycatting procedures that we originated and have discussed here.

I really do love this forum, the only other forums that will get a discount would be 986 forum, because they support us just as well and appreciate what we have created.

Jake you're welcome to use my car as a demo rig when you're down here in New Zealand.

So when can I pencil you in :-)

Wink

...Good, good good vibrations...

Maybe its a vibration sensor, mounted near the bearing with a remote readout.

Like I said, PM me with all guesses. If anyone gets it right in their PM I will give them a free unit.
Don't post any guesses here

I have the same generic reply for all guesses sent.. Everyone will get the same response, but if someone gets it right they get a free unit!

The key is early detection. Period.
This development gives a sense of security when nothing is wrong and it couples that with a warning when something starts to go wrong. This enables the driver to make an educated decision as to what course of action should be carried out. Detection occurs early enough that an IMSR can be applied.

The best part of this for the purchaser is the incentive package that comes with the unit, details on that later... You'll like it.

My 2 cents.

Bad bearing always gets hot.
