Default Airbag light on after shipping??--(UPDATE)

Ok, the light was not on prior to shipping. Picked up in Miami, FL and delivered in Maryland. When off loaded in MD, the light was on?

Could the angle while being raised to the upper level in the truck cause it to trigger?

Tried the battery disconnect trick and no luck...now I have the "code" on the radio

need to have the dealer reset it or get durametric to reset it.... what year is your car? Seat belt buckles are known to throw the code.

Radio code should be in the manual.

Ghetto!

Mine was caused by a bad clock spring, swapped it out.

I think if you become a member at Renntech, Loren can get you the radio code with your VIN.

I might be wrong, but I think if you disconnect the battery while the key is in the ignition, it will trip the airbag light. Maybe the transport company did this? Regardless, you'll need to have a dealer tech reset it.

I'd guess that one or more seatbelt buckles need to be replaced. Someday...

If the car is moved by the transport company the internal GPS is confused by the change of several 100 miles and since the car's seatbelt was not engaged ,then the warning light comes on because the car thinks it's being driven without the seatbelt being fastened.

Only kidding

Thumbs up Durametric + DeoxIT = Lights out!!

Well, I took her to Tysons Corner Porsche, Va to get a 4-wheel alignment and had them check the airbag light. They said Lt and Rt seat belt buckles were showing bad and they could replace them for $800.

So, after reading previous threads I purchased a Durametric and a can of DeoxIT contact cleaner. Just checked the airbag faults and there was a list...Lt/Rt Buckles, all side airbags, etc! Prior to playing with the durametric, I sprayed the buckles at the connectors under both seats and inside the buckles where the seat belt latches with the deoxit. After reading the faults, I cleared them and the airbag light is off.

Only time will tell how long it lasts, but I've read that folks have had good results!!

Projected savings...$500
